The days of Allah’s Mercy

Ramadan is the month of mercy, a time when we have the opportunity to draw closer to Allah ﷻ and be forgiven for our sins through the simplest of actions. The first 10 days of Ramadan are the best time for seeking this mercy, as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“And it is a month, the first (part) of which is mercy, the middle (part) of which is forgiveness and the last (part) of which is freedom from the Fire”. [Ibn Khuzaimah]

One of the most important ways to maximise this mercy from Allah is to show mercy to others. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“Whoever does not show mercy to the people, Allah will not show mercy to him”. (Tirmidhi)

Mercy can mean talking kindly to others, offering people your seat on the bus even when you’re fasting and, of course, giving Sadaqah to those in need out of the mercy of your heart. Without mercy, you may miss out on the blessings of the first 10 days.

Increase your rewards this Ramadan by helping the people of Yemen. A people about who the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:

“The best of men are the men of Yemen, belief is Yemeni, and I am Yemeni”. [Hadith – Ahmad]
